At Aleko Grooming, we value the trust you place in us when booking an appointment. This policy explains how we handle your personal information to provide a premium, seamless grooming experience.

1. Information We Collect

A. Personal Identification

We collect your name, phone number, and email address. This is essential for booking confirmations and M-Pesa transaction mapping.

B. Appointment History

We maintain records of your past services, preferred stylists, and visit frequency to personalize your future sessions.

C. Payment Metadata

When you pay via M-Pesa or Card, we receive transaction confirmation details (Reference IDs). We do not store credit card numbers or your M-Pesa PIN.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Booking Management: To schedule your appointments and send automated reminders via SMS or Email.
  • M-Pesa Verification: To reconcile payments made via Paystack to your specific booking.
  • Loyalty Rewards: To calculate your points and offer personalized discounts based on your grooming history.
  • Safety: To maintain a record of any hair/skin sensitivities you have disclosed to our barbers.

3. Sharing of Information

We respect your privacy and will never sell your phone number or data. Sharing only occurs with secure partners required for our operations:

Payment Partners

Paystack handles our secure M-Pesa and Card processing. They are fully PCI-DSS compliant.

Cloud Systems

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (database) and Vercel (hosting) using encrypted protocols.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data:

  • Encrypted Transport: All data sent between your phone and our servers uses 256-bit SSL encryption.
  • Access Control: Only authorized Aleko staff have access to the booking management dashboard.
  • Anonymization: After certain periods, we may anonymize data for business analytics (e.g., identifying busiest shop hours).

5. Data Retention

We retain your information as long as your account is active. If you haven’t booked a service in 24 months, we may archive your data. Inactive booking records are kept for 7 years to comply with Kenyan tax laws.

6. Your Rights

As a client, you have the right to request a copy of the data we hold about you or request its deletion. Note that deleting booking data may result in the loss of accumulated loyalty points.
